package bows.
lately I have been doing a lot of screen printing and book binding, but as I don't have the photos right now I will revisit a project I did a few weeks ago. as I was snowed in at my dorm I decided to work on my christmas presents. everyone loves to open a well designed package, but what's even better is a well designed, sustainable package. I recycled old paper ads to make these pretty little squid bows!
Materials:
paper
tape or string
scissors
paper shredder
1. put the paper through the shredder
2. gather the strips and hold as a whole bunch
3. bend them over once and secure the tape or string around the bend
see super easy!

long distance relationships.
dating long distance comes with many challenges but it is also a place to test your creativity and find news ways to make things fun. One thing i have found important is that even though you are not actually in the presence of the other person, you still feel better when you take care of yourself and look nice. it's just that its more fun to treat people special when your feeling sparkly yourself! the fun thing about video chat dates.... you can cheat!

visitors from another planet.
Last Friday my friends and I took an adventure to one of my favorite forest places. we didn't quite know what kind of look we were going for with our photos but this is what we ended up with. I am a little dissatisfied with my lack of understanding of my camera but photo class this spring is definitely gonna clear up those questions...
model: an alien by the name of grace, kenn and andrew also did lighting and some photo too
here are some of my photos from the excursion. fashion photography becomes quite the addiction.

i love anthropologie!
good news! i interviewed at anthropologie today for the visual intern position, and i got it! i have never felt so at ease and so belonging for a position, everything just seemed to fit. it sounds like a great team and the visual coordinator was excited about the work in my portfolio so i couldn't ask for more! i will start mid july when i get back from my london study abroad! i am so excited, it feels like it will never come, but there's a lot of good life to live til then so it is well with my soul. yay! besides this very exciting news, i had an adventure into the forest today to a creek that i love very much. i sat and listened to the water, walked on the ice, and collected rocks and bark and a shell. on the way home the sunset was hot pink and salmon and icy blue green, yippie! what a joyous day!

i'm back!
winter session is underway and i am back to this blog! things have been crazy! well not that things ever stop being crazy, because i am on my way to new york city to see passion pit in concert at terminal 5! so excited. but im breathing a sigh of relief now that justin has make it to fukuoka, japan. i've never had a long distance relationship before, but we've had some silly video chats and maybe i will get some packages in my school mail! i said goodbye to justin and went to atlanta for a week at passion conference, and when i got back there was a white little basket on my pillow. a surprise justin had left for my discovery! it was a cd of 22 poems read and recorded by him for me to listen to as bedtime stories! yay! i am listening to one a day so they will last me most of january. and speaking of january its pretty chilly so i have been piling up in curious fluffy layers!
